Texas housing prices have surged by 42% in the same period, contributing to higher tax bills. In 2024, Harris County residents paid a median of $5,721 in property taxes. Meanwhile, NewQuest is developing the Texas Heritage Marketplace in Katy, a $400 million mixed-use project featuring retail, apartments, and medical offices, anchored by a Target store.
