HAR: Area home sales cool in February

The Greater Houston housing market experienced a slowdown in February, with single-family home sales down 3.0% year-over-year, totaling 6,050 units. The number of active listings reached its highest since 2011 at 31,112. The median home price fell 1.2% to $325,000, while the average price rose slightly to $407,538. The rental market saw increased demand as buyers hesitated. Townhome and condominium sales dropped 21.9%, with inventory rising to a 6.2-month supply. Overall, total property sales decreased 4.7% year-over-year.
